Great Himalaya Trail

The Spiš Museum invites you to a unique lecture that will transport you straight to the heart of the Himalayas.

A duo of Slovak adventurers – Michal Tlelka and Sofia Bočeva – embarked on one of the world's most challenging adventures – to trek the main part of the Himalayas along its highest possible route. The result? An incredible 215 days on the road, over 3,600 kilometers, 163,000 meters of elevation, and 61 high mountain passes, many of which exceeded the 5,000-meter altitude. Their journey led from the Pakistani massif Nanga Parbat through Indian mountainous regions to Nepal's Kanchenjunga – thus connecting the western and eastern parts of the Himalayas in a way that has never been historically matched. This exceptional feat places them among the absolute elite of mountain adventurers.

You can expect an authentic narration about extreme conditions, physical strain, and moments that change the way we see the world.
