Mountain Guides' Celebration 2026

We invite you to Starý Smokovec for the Mountain Guides' Celebration, a traditional event organized by the Mountain Guides Society of the High Tatras. A society that symbolizes continuity and tradition.

Come and commemorate the rich tradition of Tatra mountaineering, meet the mountain guides, listen to their stories, and experience the unique atmosphere under the peaks of the High Tatras.

You can expect a festive program, a tribute to generations of Tatra guides, and a gathering of people united by their love for the mountains.

Program:
3:00 PM OLD SMOKOVEC CEMETERY – Laying a wreath at the memorial of mountain guides and the rescue service

4:00 PM OLD SMOKOVEC CHAPEL – Blessing of the ropes.

4:45 PM – Parade of mountain guides through the streets of Starý Smokovec

5:00 PM presentation of the Mountain Guides Society at Villa Alica
